Gregory Keer

Connecting to the heart of fatherhood since 2001.

Gregory Keer began the monthly Family Man column in 2001 while editor-in-chief of Los Angeles Family magazine. His stories of modern fatherhood have since been syndicated in dozens of print and online magazines and read by hundreds of thousands of people in the United States and abroad.

His parenting writing has earned five Parenting Media Association awards — four Gold and one Silver — including a 2011 Gold award for Humor Column and a 2023 Gold award as part of the writing team at L.A. Parent. He also founded this site, FamilyManOnline.com, as an early online magazine for the father’s perspective that Parents magazine named among the web’s best daddy blogs.

Gregory has appeared with PBS, cable news networks, and Washington Post Radio, and his writing and expert commentary have appeared in outlets including USA Today, Parenting, Newsday, Redbook, Disney’s Family.com, Parenthood.com, and EducationWorld.com.

As a high-school educator, Gregory has served as a dean of students, arts department chair, community-programming director, and teacher of Film, History, and English. At home, he and his child-development-professor wife are frequently outsmarted by their (now grown) three sons.
